GLAND BASE SCENTS

Big Buck Adventures has started out as a urine base scent company. Four years ago we have improved our line of products by adding glands to our scent line making this a highly communicative scent line of products.

Big Buck Adventures is 1 in 3 in the nation that produces Buck and Doe Pre-Orbital Scent. Big Buck Adventures is the only company in the Midwest that adds glands such as interdigital, tarsal, pubescent gland and anal sex gland glands mixed with our urine. Our gland base scents are 80% glands and 20% urine making them a gland base. All our urine is preserved making it a high quality urine mixed with our glands.

Big Buck Adventures gland base scents are one of a kind that will help increase day movement in deer activity to help bring those Bucks during your shooting hours.

Because of our one of a kind scents, gland base scents do not have a expiration date. As long as the scents do not freeze in the bottles and the compounds of the glands stay attached, the gland base scents will be effective for the next deer season.

DEER GLANDS

*Deer have 7 known glands but 1 that researchers are looking for. Big Buck Adventures and the staff have found the gland and are using that gland in our products.

HEAD

Forehead gland. All deer have this gland but the buck use this gland to rub their forehead scent on to the rubs. It's a small dark patch usually brown on the forehead where they leave that communication scent on rubs. The bucks antlers are for rubbing to make it visual.

Nasal and Saliva Gland. Nasal gland to keep the nose moist for better smelling. Saliva gland used to leave scent on the licking branch when deer chew on the licking branch.

Pre Orbital Gland. Up near the tear ducts of the eyes which help leave secretions when deer are working the licking branch.

LEGS

Interdigital gland. Located between the hoofs of the deer. This is a communication gland . This is how deer can tell each other apart in their family groups. One of the main building blocks in building a quality scent. Deer do not communicate through urine. They communicate through their interdigital and tarsal glands.

Tarsal Gland. Located back behind the legs. This gland will hold some urine. During the pre rut and rut deer will rub and urinate on those glands and they will turn dark brown. Those glands are made up of fatty tissue and bacteria will start to form to get that strong musk smell. This communication gland to help tell the bucks when the does are ready for breeding. With the bucks it becomes a territorial gland when they rub urinate to tell if there is another buck in their territory.

Preputial gland Bucks only have this gland. This scent communicator is only used as the bucks enter in the pre rut; this gland will mix with the urine when the bucks rub urinate on the tarsal gland. This is the rutting smell that bucks will give off.

Metatarsal Gland. This is the alarm gland smell when deer stomp their feet.

Anal Gland. These gland are found in does only. These glands are attached to the urinary tract. When the does gives off the secretions smell when they are in heat. It's a sweet sticky substance. Bucks will lick and smell the does anal area to see if she is ready. This is what Big Buck Adventures collect to put in our Doe in Heat and Doe Passion scents to make them a strong communication smell and scent.

How to and when to use scents with each communication.

Buck Pre- Orbital

This scent is the main communicator with all bucks. Bucks communicate through their Pre-Orbital which is located by the Bucks forehead and eyes. Big Buck Adventures will start this scent in mid- August to start our locations of our mock scrapes. It helps you get a inventory of what bucks are traveling through your hunting zone and staying in your hunting zone. This is effective all season. Spray this on the over-hanging branch (licking branch). It's most effective using a key wick scent pad by dipping the tail of the wick into the scent. Be sure to be waring rubber gloves when working with scents. This scent works best with Ultimate Scrape Mix, Dominant Buck Urine, Buck Fever and Hot Rage Buck urine when your are making your ground mock scrapes.

Oil Base Buck Pre-Orbital

This scent can be applied at the same time as the liquid Buck Pre Orbital. This a longer lasting lure that will last through all weather events and colder weather. I recommend using a ½" to ¾" hemp or sisal twine rope. Using rubber gloves, I will attach rope (used as a vine) to branch, apply the lure to the rope and working the lure in wearing rubber gloves. I have applied lure just to branches when leave gone and had great results.

Doe Pre-Orbital

Big Buck Adventures has used this scent in the early season. It's most effective during the seek and chase phase (Pre-rut) and rut phase. If use it early or during the post rut, use Doe Whisper on the ground in a mock scrape. When using during the pre-rut; use it with Doe Passion, Blazing Hot Doe, or Hot Scrape Mix. When using these scents during the rut phase, Big Buck Adventures would recommend to Doe call. Apply this just like the Buck Pre-Orbital.

Doe Whisper

Great all- season scent. This is a calming scent. It has all the communications of a Doe. Doe urine, Doe interdigital, Doe tarsal gland and other pheromones.

Big Buck Adventures uses this scent in mock scrapes, pulling a drag to your hunting location or as a cover scent on your boots. Works good during the early season or post rut with great success.

Ultimate Scrape Mix

This is the best scent mix on the scent market to start your ground mock scrape. This scent has Buck and Doe Urine, Buck and Doe interdigital, and Buck and Doe tarsal gland. Big Buck Adventures recommends starting the scent September 1st to September 15th right before the pre-rut begins. We have started mock scrapes as early as August 20th as the bucks are loosing their velvet and their testosterone levels begin to rise, they will become more interested in mock scrapes. Lots of nice bucks have been taken with this scent.

Dominant Buck Urine

This scent contains a good balance of Buck urine, Buck interdigital and a small amount of Buck tarsal gland to start the ground buck mock scrape. Don't make this scrape any bigger than 3x 3. Big Buck Adventures recommends to start this scent around October 20th. This scent works great to introduce a intruder in their zone. Use this with the Buck Pre-Orbital. For those hunters who like to run a dripper, Big Buck Adventures would recommend the Hot Rage buck urine or mix the 2 scents to get real good balance to start a dripper mock scrape.

Buck Fever

If you are looking for a scent that will turn a buck on, this scent is for you. This mixture of Buck urine, Buck interdigital, more tarsal glands and the Peubusant gland by the Bucks urethra. This is the gland that mixes with the urine that the bucks pee on their glands to give off that strong smell. That gland along with mature tarsal glands is what makes this scent potent. Follow up with this scent after the Dominant Buck Urine or Hot Rage. Big Buck Adventures would start using this scent around November 1st to the end of November. Use this scent with the Buck Pre-Orbital. Rattling and Buck grunts works very good with this set up because of the strong smell of a intruder buck.

Hot Scrape Mix

New mix for 2018. Big Buck Adventures tested this scent in 2017 with great results. This is a mixture of Doe in Heat urine with Estrus secretions, Doe urine, Doe interdigital and Doe tarsal gland. This mixture will have the smell of a HOT DOE. Use this scent in your doe mock scrape with the Doe Pre-Orbital. Big Buck Adventures starts using these scents at the start of the pre-rut around October 20th through November. Don't be afraid to use this in a heavy application or in a scent dripper set up. This scent will peak up a bucks interest that there is a hot doe in the area. Works well when doe calling.

Doe Passion

The Doe Passion is like Hot Scrape but this is an all-gland mix scent with Doe interdigital, Doe tarsal gland and anal sex gland. Lot of nice bucks have been taken with this scent. Use this just like the Hot Scrape Mix or follow up with this scent after using the Hot Scrape. This gives the hunter another option.

Blazing Hot Doe

Inn 2015, Big Buck Adventures changed their deer facility and starting collecting urine. With our change, in our collection area with stainless steel pens; our urine scent are collected when the does are in their peak heat stage with all the. hormones and pheromones are present. Big Buck Adventures do not put stress on their deer to have the most pure urine we can collect. During the collection; Big Buck Adventures chills the urine down instantly to 36 degrees into the collection barrels to preserve the urine and not allowing oxygen to interfere during the collection to bring you the freshest scent. With all these steps, Big Buck Adventures has developed the Hottest doe urine on the market. Because of the collection timing, this scent is not available until late October. Use this scent through the peak of the rut in a mock scrape, drag a scent wick, or on a scent wick. This scent is very potent and reaches smells long distances. This scent is scent out frozen to help hold all the hormones and pheromones.
